DIATOMACEOUS EARTH (D.E.) FILTRATION FOR OILFIELD FILTRATION OPERATIONS

Clean completion fluids can only be obtained by using the right selection of filtration equipment and consumables. Diatomaceous Earth (D.E.) filtration is the most effective method for filtration of completion fluids. Twin Filter has sourced his own D.E. material, Twinlite.

Our Vertical Pressure Leaf (VPL) filter unit, or our Filter Press, in combination with the Duplex cartridge filter unit has proved to be the most effective solution for filtration of fluids. Our systems can handle flow rates up to 30 BPM. With our filtration set-up, a wide range of fluids can achieve NTU levels of < 5 ppm.

VERTICAL PRESSURE LEAF (VPL)

The Twin Filter VPL has proven to be the best D.E. filter in the Oilfield market. More often oil companies are specifying the VPL as most effective way to treat completion fluids. The high throughputs with low NTU and no spillage of brines are the main factors. Therefore many service companies have chosen the Twin Filter Vertical Pressure Leaf unit as their standard filter unit.

FILTER PRESS

For many years the Filter Press has been the workhorse in the Oilfield Industry. The robust design and construction allows a wide range of filtration applications. Our press is specifically designed for filtration of completion-, work over- and gravel pack fluids.

FLUID POLISHING AFTER D.E. FILTRATION: DUPLEX CARTRIDGE FILTER UNIT

We would recommend to use our TDW 610 50/40 duplex cartridge filter unit with 2 micron absolute filter caridges as a guard or polishing filter after the VPL or FP units. Each TDW pod contains 50 filter cartridges with a length of 40”, which results in long filtration runs and continuous flow.
